Hello, everyone! Last year around Diwali, I had the most amazing travel experience when I visited Connaught Place in Delhi. Today, I am going to share all the fun and exciting moments of my trip with you!
The Journey Begins
My journey started early in the morning. My parents and I took a train from Darbhanga to Delhi. The train ride was long, but I was super excited. I spent most of my time looking out of the window, watching the beautiful landscapes pass by. We reached Delhi in the evening, and the city looked so big and bright compared to Darbhanga.
Exploring Connaught Place
The next day, we woke up early, had a delicious breakfast, and headed to Connaught Place. As soon as we arrived, I was amazed by the hustle and bustle of the place. Connaught Place, or CP as it's commonly called, is one of the busiest places in Delhi. It has a circular design with many shops, restaurants, and offices.
First Stop: Palika Bazaar
Our first stop was Palika Bazaar, an underground market in Connaught Place. It was like stepping into a different world. The market was crowded, and there were so many shops selling clothes, electronics, toys, and more. I bought a cool remote-controlled car and some colorful t-shirts. My parents also bought some gifts for our relatives back in Darbhanga.
The Central Park Experience
After shopping, we went to Central Park, which is right in the middle of Connaught Place. The park is beautiful with green lawns, flowers, and fountains. I ran around, played on the grass, and had so much fun. There were many people enjoying their time, some were jogging, others were having picnics, and kids like me were playing. We also took many pictures to capture the beautiful moments.
Yummy Food at Connaught Place
By afternoon, we were all hungry, so we decided to try some food. Connaught Place is famous for its variety of food options. We went to a famous restaurant called Kake Da Hotel. The food was delicious! I had butter chicken with naan, and it was the best thing I had ever tasted. My parents tried some other dishes, and they loved it too. After lunch, we had ice cream from a nearby shop, which was the perfect dessert.
Visiting Jantar Mantar
After filling our tummies, we went to visit Jantar Mantar, which is close to Connaught Place. Jantar Mantar is an ancient observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. It has huge instruments made of stone, which were used to study the stars and planets. I found it fascinating to learn how people in the olden days used these instruments for astronomy. It was like a history lesson in real life!
Street Performers and Artists
As we walked back to Connaught Place, we saw many street performers and artists. There were musicians playing traditional instruments, dancers performing folk dances, and artists creating beautiful paintings. I even got a caricature drawn by one of the artists. It was so much fun to watch them and see their talents.
Evening at India Gate
In the evening, we decided to visit India Gate, which is not very far from Connaught Place. India Gate is a war memorial and a popular tourist spot. The monument looked magnificent, especially with the lights on. There were many families, tourists, and vendors selling snacks and toys. I had a fun time running around, flying a kite, and enjoying the evening breeze.
The Light and Sound Show
One of the highlights of our trip was the Light and Sound Show at India Gate. The show told the story of India's history, freedom struggle, and the significance of India Gate. The lights and sound effects were amazing, and it felt like we were part of the history. I learned so much about our country and felt proud to be an Indian.
Wrapping Up the Day
After the show, we took a cab back to our hotel. I was tired but very happy. We had dinner at the hotel, and I couldn't stop talking about all the things we did and saw that day. My parents were happy to see me so excited and promised to take me on more trips in the future.
Reflections on My Trip
Visiting Connaught Place in Delhi was an unforgettable experience for me. I got to see so many new places, meet new people, and learn a lot. It made me realize how big and diverse our country is. I also learned to appreciate the history, culture, and modernity of Delhi. I will always cherish these memories and look forward to more adventures.
